Bavarian Country

Had a picturesque perfect day out in the Bavarian country side. The day couldn't have been more idyllic as I sat in a typical Bavarian "Beergarden" overlooking apple trees, mountain tops and the Starnberger See, all while sipping my "Spezi" (German soda drink which is more or less a mix of Coke and Fanta) and thinking about absolutely nothing...just enjoying one of those late summer afternoons in pure bliss. 

Gypsy Spell

For a Life full of Sunshine:


Light an orange candle and place a bunch of St. John's Wort flowers beside it. Make a wish, then hang the bunch of flowers over your main entrance way in your home. Leave the candle to burn out on it's own. It will bring your wish and ward off Evil.

October 31st,  the day that is the thinnest between the Spirit World and the physical world. 

Happy Hallow's Eve all

 Gypsies who have been wondering the earth for more than a millennium became objects of hatred, wonder, controversy and mistrust. Coming to Europe 6 centuries ago they brought with them the exotic traditions and dialects of far flung cultures. They became known as skillful storytellers, musicians, and fortune tellers. As well as being gifted practitioners of palmistry, crystallomancy, and many other forms of divination, including tarot card reading, which they claim to have indroduced in Europe in 1427. 
The Gypsies cling to age old customs, courtship rites, and dialect. Romany communities are still to be found in the length and breadth of Europe and deep inside the former Soviet Union.  In a decade or so there may be none at all.

Romanies are true friends of the earth, with their Nomadic existence they have lived closer to nature for longer than anyone else, and they are among the last free spirits on the face of the globe.

Munich Fabric Start

Just spent the past 2 days at the Munich Fabric Start . Besides trying to avoid all the lovely sweets & treats spread out on 'oh so presentable platters' (the italians nearly had a buffetts..i'm just going so say Serano ham and parmesan everywhere..)  ... ju-hh-st easily enough to reach while viewing all the amazzzing fabrics, buttons, feathers, just about anything that makes up that special piece .. the small tiny things you happen to oversee now and then... but happen to play a very justified role in every garment ... yup those.... everywhere !!
Since we weren't really allowed to take pictures... yes sneaky me... these are just a few impressions of things that were showcased...

Burning Sage

It's hard to let go. But thats life, what can I tell you?

Just watched Meet Joe Black for the x time.. That movie just seems to come on at the most random times and even though I've seen it oh so many times.. I get hooked every single time. The story itself isnt that 'oooing' but  yet it is.. If that makes any sense? It's so simple but the dialogue is so striking.. and the emotion is depicted so well and a bit overwhelming. (I've definatly cried a few times watching it)  And of course Anthony Hopkins is just such a cool 'I don't give a fuck' man in the movie.
This explanation that he gives to his daughter about love stuck with me as it was so genuine and I feel no one should ever forget it!

" I want you to get swept away out there. I want you to levitate. I want you to sing with rapture and dance like a dervish...Yeah be deliriously happy or at least leave yourself open to be. I know it's a cornball thing, but love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I'm not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. Change is inevitable

Hello fellow readers!!

Kind of exciting.. first post!

I've been holding this moment off for a while now because of the fear of not knowing what to write etc. but sometimes you just gotta jump into something and not allow fear to keep you from that which could... turn into something great! I'm in a changed setting right now- Santa Fe, New Mexico so the timing couldn't be better! I hope you enjoy my blog and whats to come as you watch me get more comfortable with this new 'hobby' of mine!
